IT MUST be acknowledged that the seeds for the creation of this online exhibit were found within the pages of Erik Calonius' book: The Wanderer, The Last American Slave Ship and the Conspiracy that Set its Sails.  Mr. Calonius' book is a fascinating chronicle of the landing and subsequent trial of the slave ship Wanderer, and will leave readers with little doubt that this event was one of the most important stories of its decade.
